Thank you, Asia "Wetlands" (69 days to go)

March 23, 2021

We have begun hitting the bucket list items of our departure.  And so this past weekend Brent and I made the trek to the Hong Kong Wetland Park in the New Territories close to mainland China.  We invited friends to infuse some "kid energy" into the expedition as apparently at 17 a young man isn't interested in traveling 90 minutes to see wetlands.  :)

You can see Shenzhen, China from there.  We have travelled to Shenzhen in the past to visit friends, but now with Covid-19 and the borders essentially shut and a 21-day quarantine to return to HK and a 14-day quarantine upon arrival in China, there is no hope of going back.  So, this was the closest we could be.

The conservatory feels calming with its varieties of plants and mud and water ways and birds.  We especially enjoyed the lotus flowers.

But also there were occasional cool Lego displays along the paths which energized the group.

We continue to marvel at the availability of natural beauty in both Korea and Hong Kong.  Thank you, Asia!
