Thank you, Asia "Tai Tam Resevoir" (66 days left in HK)

 March 26, 2021

One of my favorite places in Hong Kong is only a five-minute walk from home - the Tai Tam Reservoir visible from the Tai Tam Country Road Park.  This reservoir is actually one of many parts to a reservoir system built over 100 years ago.  Pre-Covid, Mainlanders from China would come by the busload on  Saturday and Sunday mornings to walk the park trail and see this beautiful reservoir and its sister parts. In the early morning, there are few using the park trail, though.  So we generally walk it either early.  When we still had Rigby, he would enjoy all the smells while I took pictures of this beautiful and serene area.

See for yourself, the beauty of this place.

Of all the photos I have taken in Hong Kong, I am certain that I have the most photos of this reservoir.  Because it is protected water, no one can swim or put vehicles in this water.  Therefore, it is always pristine.

Depending on the time of year the reservoir may be completely filled or empty.

We look forward to the late spring and summer rains which fill it up again.
